Robotics and STEAM
Bringing technology and education together in a fun, competitive, cooperative environment, Webberville Robotics are an exciting way to get involved in computer science, math and mechanical engineering! Since 2012, Webberville has been a proud host of multiple VEX Robotics Tournaments and has competed in the Michigan State Championship.
The VEX Robotics Competition, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, is the largest and fastest growing middle school and high school robotics program. Each year, an exciting engineering challenge is presented in the form of a game. Students, with guidance from their teachers and mentors, build innovative robots and compete throughout the year. There are more than 1,700 competitions that occur worldwide, with over 20,000 teams from 50 countries competing.
Students will gain valuable engineering skills, as well as life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, communication, collaboration, project management, and critical thinking. The VEX Robotics Competition prepares students to become future innovators with 95% of participants reporting an increased interest in STEM subject areas and pursuing STEM-related careers.
