BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Coon has been teaching for a total of 19 years. She taught 6th grade in Cheboygan, Michigan before moving to the Fowlerville/Webberville area. In 1991 Mrs. Coon joined the staff at Webberville Elementary School as a sixth grade teacher. She is currently the Title I Director for the district, focusing on reading instruction.
In the fall of 1993, after completing her master's degree, she traveled to the People's Republic of China as part of an International Reading Delegation. Mrs. Coon has been active in many aspects of curriculum development. She has chaired the Reading Committee, the Writing Committee and is presently a member of the Teacher Leadership Team, working on school improvement issues. Mrs. Coon has been an active member of CARC (Capital Area Reading Council), MRA (Michigan Reading Association), and IRA (International Reading Association).
