Friday Folder Completed work for the school week will be sent home each Friday in your child’s Friday Folder. In the folder will be a student report sheet which will need to be signed. The folder will also contain the classroom newsletter and any other communication sent from the school office. Please return the folder to school on Monday.
Birthdays Birthdays are special for you and your child and will be recognized at school in an appropriate manner. Please let me know ahead of time if you wish to send in a special treat for the class on your child’s birthday.
Book Club Orders Book club orders are sent home the first Friday of each month. If you wish to place an order, payment may be made in cash or by check. Checks should be made payable to the book club.
Clothing Kindergartners are involved in activities that require running, jumping, climbing and the like. In class, students will be painting, using glue, working with playdough, cooking and other “messy stuff”. Please select clothing that is both comfortable and appropriate for these activities. If your child is not yet able to tie his/her own shoes, self-fastening or slip-on shoes are highly recommended. Because children who are engrossed in activities often do not recognize the need to use the bathroom, accidents can happen. I suggest keeping a change of clothing (including undergarments) at school or in your child’s backpack.
Communication If you need to contact me you have three options:
Snacks We have a snack break each day. During the first week of each month please send a box or bag of snack crackers, pretzels, etc. to be shared with your child’s classmates. Milk may be purchased by the day, week or month.
Transportation Please remember to NOTIFY THE SCHOOL IN WRITING if there are changes in the way your child will be going home from school. Without written instruction from you, your child will be sent home in the usual manner. Verbal changes from your child or a sibling cannot be accepted.
Volunteers The children enjoy have their parents come to school to help them learn! In October you will be given the opportunity to sign up to volunteer in the classroom.
Money Periodically your child will bring money to school for milk, book club orders, etc. When sending money to school with your child, be sure to use an envelope or ziplock bag CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME, WHAT THE MONEY IS FOR, AND THE AMOUNT ENCLOSED. Please send exact change when sending cash. All checks, unless otherwise noted, should be made payable to Webberville Community Schools.
Newsletters A newsletter will be sent home in your child’s Friday Folder each week. It will include a summary of what was taught in class as well as outline future events.
