Webberville Top Ten:
Webberville High School has announced the top academic achievers in the Class of 2004, who will graduate on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. They are April Marr (valedictorian), Jeff Raschke (salutatorian), Ellen M. Rogers, Colleen Patton, Rebecca Wilson, Angela Wilson, Meranda Brooks, Kim Hopkins, Lance Young, and Jeremy Eckert.
- April Marr is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Marr. April is a member of National Honor Society, Science Club, and Class Club. She has participated in the Crop Walk for National Honor Society. Her future plans are to finish an associate degree in Applied Sciences from Lansing Community College and then transfer to Michigan State University to complete her Bachelor’s degree.
- Jeff Raschke is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Raschke. Jeff is a member of the National Honor Society. He has participated in football, track, baseball and drama while in high school. He plans on attending Michigan State University in the fall.
- Ellen M. Rogers is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Rogers. Ellen is a Michigan Merit award, Scholar Athlete, Local TDS Essay Winner, and a member of National Honor Society. Ellen is a cheerleader and newspaper editor. She has participated in the Crop Walk, worked with Catholic Catechism services and enjoys art and writing. Ellen plans on attending Lansing Community College in the fall.
- Colleen Patton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Patton. Colleen was a National Merit Scholar nominee and is a member of the National Honor Society. She has participated in band, drama, choir, and track. She has worked with AWANA and Operation Christmas Child. She plans on attending Central Michigan University, majoring in elementary education.
- Rebecca Wilson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson. She is a National Honor Society Member. She has been a member of cross-country, track, Science Club, Class Club, and Peer Assistant Leader. She has volunteered with Crop Walk and Love Luggage. She plans on attending Lansing Community College in the fall, majoring in the Science field.
- Angela Wilson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson. She is a National Honor Society member and also belongs to Student Council. She has participated in cross-country, science club, and Spanish club. She plans on attending Lansing Community College in the fall, majoring in History.
- Meranda Brooks is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Brooks. She is a member of the National Honor Society, vice president of Student Council, SADD, PALS, Class President, Science Club, and Model United Nations. She has participated in band, choir, track, and cheerleading. She has volunteered for Love Luggage, Shamrocks for Muscular Dystrophy, and the Crop Walk. She plans on attending Adrian College in the fall, studying interior design.
- Kim Hopkins is the daughter of Beverly Hopkins and Robert Hopkins. She was a National Merit Scholar nominee. She is a member of the Spanish Club. She plans on attending Arizona State University in the fall, pursuing a career in International Affairs.
- Lance Young is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Young. His is a member of National Society and Student Council. He participated in basketball, football, drama, debate, and baseball. He has volunteered in Adopt-A-Highway and helped to clean up the school environment. He plans on attending Michigan State University, majoring in Fisheries and Wildlife Management.
- Jeremy Eckert is the son of Tonya Gravelle and Dan Eckert. He is a National Honor Society and Student Council member. He participated in football, wrestling, and track. He plans on pursuing a career in the military as a pilot.
