Job Description: Technical Services Manager

Primary Function:

Provide desktop and network support and maintenance for the school district

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:
Associates degree in computer support or computer networking with CNE certification or equivalent preferred
High School diploma with CNA certification or equivalent minimum

 

Training and Experience:
Experience with troubleshooting network problems in a multi-protocol environment

Experience in diverse technology applications

Experience in managing comprehensive information networks

Working knowledge of current instructional technology applications

Experience managing information networks for the transmission of voice, video and data

 

Human Relations Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with staff, students, and members of the administration team

Position Summary:

1. Provide leadership in implementing the district’s technology plan

2. Assists the district with the operation, expansion, and evaluation of technology

3. Provides administrative technology resource direction

4. Directs the flow of technical assistance and support for all staff

5. Supervises the development and maintenance of a comprehensive inventory of technology systems and materials

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains servers

2. Diagnoses and repairs software and hardware problems

3. Communicates adherence of vendors to contracts

4. Provides support for Sassy administrative software and all other district software

5. Oversees the district’s wide area network

6. Assists with integration of technology in the curriculum

7. Manages and adjusts traffic on district’s hubs, routers, and Ethernet switches

8. Assists in managing internet access and control

9. Advises principals on technology purchases for their buildings

10. Manages voice, data, and video communications for district

11. Other duties assigned by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment & Technology

 

Terms of Employment:

Per administrative contract with the Superintendent and Board of Education

 

Evaluation:

Annually on or before March 1 of each fiscal year
