Job Description: Intern Technician

Primary Function:

 

Provide desktop and network support and maintenance for the school district

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:
Working towards a high school diploma and completed Desktop Support (Technology I) and Network Support (Technology II) or equivalent minimum
CNA certification and/or other technical/software certification desired

 

Training and Experience:
Experience with troubleshooting network problems in a multi-protocol environment

Working knowledge of current instructional technology applications

Experience managing information networks for the transmission of voice, video and data

 

Human Relations Skills:
Effective oral and written communications skills

Technical Services Manager

Superitendent

Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment & Technology

Technical Service Manager

Technician

Technician Interns

 

Position Summary:

1. Provides desktop support and troubleshooting

 

2. Assists in the repair and maintenance of all technology equipment

 

3. Assists technical service manager and technicians

 

4. Assists with routine maintenance procedures on all computers

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Directs maintenance routines on all computers

 

2. Provides troubleshooting support for staff

 

3. Learns and provides support for district software and hardware

 

4. Assists staff with the installation of software

 

5. Perform other duties assigned by the Technician Service Manager

 

Evaluation:

Assessment and performance grading every marking period as part of the school-to-careers program – Director of Curriculum will be the teacher of record for the school-to-careers program
