CURRICULUM COUNCIL- Minutes from December 16, 2004

 

Members Present: Dana Perry, Laura Bartel, Eileen Slider, Janet Reifenberg, Beth Parnell, Brian Friddle, Maureen Monroe, Andy Beauvais, Kathleen Kephart, and Suzanne Cloudman.

 

Review of By Laws:

Review and Revise, give feed back to Brian

The By Laws will be presented to the staff at a future meeting.

 

Leadership teams:

The teams will serve as a liaison between the staff and the curriculum council. The team will help teachers to develop and present proposals and other information to the council.

 

Visual Arts update:

Beth Parnell presented an overview of her programs and the opportunities that the students are receiving in her curriculum. She outlined the current course work and what see envisioned for the future. Beth is looking for computer graphic projects for her students. She showcased student works that involved created new menus for 2fer’s. Her program will involve further web design and development of electronic portfolios for student work.

 

Strategic Plan:

We looked at the strategic plan and goals 2, 3, and 4 and how they were in line with the goals outlined for the curriculum council.

 

Elementary Staff Development:

The LIFT program was discussed along with changes to the curriculum to get in line with the GLCE’S.
